On June 9 is celebrated the day of the Ports of Sports, this year they have joined the initiative of the Catalan Association of Ports and Sports (ACPET) many ports throughout the Spanish geography with the intention of bringing them closer to the citizen, during All day long, there will be a multitude of nautical, cultural, gastronomic, leisure and other activities for the whole family.
He was born in the USA in 2001, as an initiative to bring the ports closer to those people who habitually did not visit them. It was about breaking with the elitist image that in some cases was had of the marinas, remembering that it is not necessary to own a boat to enjoy them, as well as the sea or sports activities that are frequently carried out.
Today there are many ports that internationally are welcoming this beautiful initiative.
Marina Day wants to break with the image that many people have that ports are closed and elitist places, since they are facilities open to everyone where you do not have to have a boat to enjoy its wide range of activities. The day will host from boat trips, fishing competitions, visits to facilities, baptisms of diving, music, and many other activities that will be defined as the day of the celebration approaches.
Last year it premiered in Catalonia, in the 2018 edition it has moved to the state level to consolidate itself as one of the reference dates of the Spanish calendar. A day to get closer to the marinas and enjoy one of the gems of our geography, the sea.
